I made a shrimp thermador. I usually use shrimp and scallops. I made it with just shrimp. When I topped it with cheese I said “it needs more cheese”. Well it didn’t. It was kind of gummy. Lessons learned. Stick to your tried and true recipes.

Made some waffle fries as a test run with my new chopper/slicer/cheap mandolin thing. I've got a good mandolin it just didn't come with the blade for making

They are known as 'game chips' in the UK: see here for some I made and served with game.

been working on my ossa bucco . . .
impossible to find shanks in a mass market - 'special' ordered from the local butcher....
ordering ossa bucco in a resto, you get a shank on the plate with goodies on the side. . .
these (2) shanks came in at ~ 4 pounds / 1.8kg _each_ . . . one be froze....
in process:

I picked up some free food for our dinners tonight. DH gets the chicken tenders (and some homecooked vegetables on the side). I ate his fries and the Texas Toast, neither of which would reheat well anyway. If he wants fries I can make him some fresh but some broccoli and cheese will be welcomed I am sure.

It's what's for dinner --- BEEF!
This is my Hawaii-Style Chopped Steak with a little added something.
I had some Celery that needed to get used, so I sliced it on the bias, kinda on the thick-ish side.
It came out so nice and sweet.
Normally, I DO NOT care for cooked Celery, but I think it goes back, yet again, to my Mother's cooking :yuck:
This was tasty and I even have a small portion leftover for my breakfast tomorrow :spaghetti:

Went out last night. It had been years since we went to this place. Unfortunately, it's gone downhill to a just meh, probably won't go back place. We both had Bahamian conch chowder, which is red and slightly spicy. Way too much celery and green pepper, picked mine out so not sure if it was bell or jalapeno. It was okay otherwise. Craig had what they called a Yucatan paella, shrimp, mussels, clams, and chicken. The chicken was dry and stringy, and most of the shrimp were rubber bands. The mussels and clams were okay though. I had a shrimp po'boy with their Creole tartar sauce, which was nothing more than mayo, ketchup and cayenne. My shrimp were fried okay. It was a decent po'boy but for the sauce. The hushpuppies though, I'm from the south and like my cornbread products to have a little sugar, enough to add just a touch of sweet. These though, you almost could have eaten them for dessert, just dust with some powdered sugar or drizzle with some honey.
