Now THAT is what I call a proper BBQ!
Even though I don't eat meat, the very thought of a proper BBQ is simply magic.
My kids (both dedicated carnivores) would do that on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday; invite loads of friends or family, and we'd have the most wonderful time.
He’s doing a bbq smoked veg day soonish. I think I’d enjoy that one.

I'm out of cake for 1st breakfast again, so made some more.
The last lot turned out good, but I figured
a) if posting the recipe for anyone who may be interested then take out the 25% wholemeal flour (I can always switch it back)
b) try push the envelope on how much yogurt I can squeeze in, 100% general purpose flour may help with that.

So this lot are ginger and lemon, I managed to re-introduce some air holes, I half cut it, and half broke it - shows the actual texture better. I figure I can fix the air holes easy. The flavouring was delicate in these, I'll probably up the flavouring a bit in the next lot

Yes, still carbs though. 👎
I like (errr, love) carbs! But I've been going heavier on the veggies lately. I am not trying to lose weight and blood sugar is ok. I like rice better than pasta but no reason to scale back on either, personally. I may have missed somewhere why you don't want carbs?

It's a maintain my weight thing. I don't really work anymore and since I'm not walking 8 miles a day or going up/down 10 flights of stairs I don't need a lot. My FitIndex scale says I need 1775 Calories/day for my basal metabolic rate and that works out to right around 935 calories/day coming from carbs. With breakfast having potatoes I can miss them at lunch and get it at dinner. 👍

That scale is pretty slick for $22...

Makes perfect sense and I could do with dropping some pounds, maybe 20 or so, but I'd like to not change my eating habits...good thing my husband doesn't mind me a little plump.

You used to go up and down 10 flights of stairs? Ouch my knees hurt just thinking about it.

I also love carbs and as you probably realised have a bit of a sweet tooth so I need to exercise a bit of self control.
My dietician wants me to eat more (inc carbs/proteins), but without regular blood sugar tests I'd be concerned about next years blood sugar results. I did increase them a bit but I'm wary of having too many. I'm also wary of large amounts of proteins creating work for the kidneys.

For me I'm not bothered about bread or potato's, but pasta / noodles / pizza / cake / sweet stuff ... :hungry:

I've actually, and you know it, figured how far in my career of HVAC service I've traveled up/down stairs. Space starts, basically, right about 62 miles up and I've gone that far via stairs and ladders. No wonder my hips were shot! 😉

Plump reminds me of a Navy saying...

I love it all. I've not got much of a sweet tooth until I do, if you know what I mean. I'll make a big batch of berry muffins once a month or so and I try to give most of them away so I don't eat too many. I do like chocolate but I try not to keep it around. I get big bars from Aldi occasionally (they are actually 5 small bars in one package) and that can last me a week or more, then I don't buy it again for a few months. Yogurt and fruit is nice sometimes.

I prefer fruit flavours to chocolate generally speaking. I buy the unsweetened yogurt as it's so useful - eat with fruit, or as a cream substitute either on food (sweetened a little), or in cooking

My wife recently had the doc tell her to lose some weight.
She said good luck with that my hubby cooks with cream and butter..lol
