This is the prime rib roast i bought a Meijer's for $7.99 lb. I marinated it for a couple days and cooked it for FIL's birthday dinner. It was just a 2 rib, basically just a thick ribeye steak, really, but big enough for the 4 of us at 2.5 lbs. I had hubby hard sear it on the grill for 4 minutes on each side then I finished it in the oven on very low heat. It was so good! No after pics, we were all too hungry, lol.

This afternoon's tapas. I must consider the practicalities of making a selection.

Anyway, these are buttered sliced bread stick, grass, smoked salmon trout, freshwater prawns and a little Marie Rose sauce.

And a little powdered paprika for the singular close up.

Tonight was night 2 of the Cauliflower & Pea Khichari only tonight I served it with wilted pak Choy and tempeh. The green colour in the khichari is due to the minced green chilies and the fresh turmeric I used as some of the flavouring.

That's a steak JAS not a roast lol...... Looks very yummy.

I'm going to turn my twice baked potatoes into potato pancakes for brunch. For anyone who doesn't know what twice baked potatoes are, it's basically loaded mashed potatoes with cheese, sour cream, bacon, and sometimes green onion (my in-laws don't like onion so I skipped that), and either stuffed back into the potato skin and baked or baked into a casserole (I did mine in a casserole because most of the time my family won't eat the skin, which always irritates me since it's so good and good for you, plus the effort involved in doing it). I used Gouda, Havarti, and white cheddar cheese in my twiced baked last night. So I will take a cold ball of the potatoes, flatten, and coat in breadcrumbs then pan fry in butter. I plan on serving an egg over top and a side of sliced leftover prime rib "steak" from last night.
