Tonights dinner pics tomorrow. I have just finished the chicken thigh curry featuring rascal garam masala ( beautifully fragrant) I thought I would go all out for a traditional British meal so the Vanilla blancmange is setting up in the fridge. I will serve the blancmange with cinnamon scented :roflmao: poached plums.

Chinese Lamb Cutlets.

From Casseroles, St Michael's Cookery.
Bit of a swiz really. Bung in a few Chinese style ingredients and call it Chinese.
Lamb, onion, celery, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, stock and soya sauce. Edit, and mushrooms.
For the rice, spring onion, peas, ham, egg, soy sauce.

A lady friend who comes here on cup day, ( we invite about 25 people every year) knows I have a penchant for melting moments aka yo yoes. A sweet cake with icing in the middle. She bought me a tin of them just for me. I had them in the laundry away from prying eyes. It appears we have mice as there is only 5 left now. I just had one and hid the rest. My friend from Auckland who was staying has a sweet tooth. I won't say anything, lol. They are really yummy.

A little chilly here today. I have the stew and dumplings simmering.

Last nights Dinner. " Thanks to rascal present of his own blend of garam masala its spiced yogurt chicken thighs. So far I fried onions. garlic and ginger. I then added the G/M and fried it a bit (magnificent aroma) then I added the thighs and colored them. I then added the yogurt and carried on frying for a bit. I then put the pot in the slow cooker. I will add ground almond towards the end to thicken and enrich." Pud was Vanilla Blankmange with cinnamon scented poached plums bedecked with pomegranate jewel . I presented the pud in the style of a post modernist Neanderthal's cave painting.
On a serious note about the Magic Powder Russers sent me. It's the best garam masala I have tried in a long time. It has one particular flavor note that we could not determine. That note brought everything together, it made a simple spiced dish very special. Thank you Russ mate !
