I had some deli roast beef that was getting a little too mature and my most recent loaf of homemade bread is about past it as well, so I fried an onion, grilled the bread, chopped up the meat, threw on some cheese and peppers, and called it lunch.

I've done that, but with a bun. It's good, even if it isn't "authentic." Cheater cheesesteak was a good choice for a name.
