Here's a vid showing the Vietnamese version I shot a couple of years ago in Hoi An. As an aside, it was during this holiday I first stumbled upon this Forum and consequently signed up.
We occasionally heat broth in our fondue pot and cook bite-sized hunks of meat in that. They're small enough that they cook in just a few seconds.

I had some deli roast beef that was getting a little too mature and my most recent loaf of homemade bread is about past it as well, so I fried an onion, grilled the bread, chopped up the meat, threw on some cheese and peppers, and called it lunch.
