What did you cook or eat today (October 2020)?

That looks really good to me!

The taste was OK but the consistency of the pastry was not what I would have wished for. The minced beef was not from my usual source and contained a lot of fat. Maybe the excess fat interfered with the "puffing" of the pastry.

A gift from a colleague to celebrate his new house.

Oh, you mean the one they came up with after ER had been making it since at least 2 years prior?
I don't know the timeline, but I do know that whenever I discover one of these "tricks" from one cook, it doesn't take long before I notice the same/similar method pop up elsewhere.

Last night we went out, wife had a $100 voucher from our kids for her birthday. Place is called 27 steps. In the top 6 restaurants in Christchurch . Duck pate was really good, we both had the fillet steak. Melted in the mouth. Great with a merlot. And we have dinner club tonight. Thai place we've been to before.

The pizza dough is 50% whole wheat.

The frequent salads and smaller portions/healthier eating is paying off. MrsT has lost 11 pounds since the first week in August. I don't know what I lost, but I know my belt won't tighten any further and I have to hold my trousers up with one hand while I'm walking, or they slide down my flat azz.

That's my new diet book title: "From Fat-Azz To Flat-Azz In 60 Days!"

Congrats to both of you on your weight loss!

Are you following a specific menu plan? How are you two doing it?

Thanks!

The only thing I'm doing is making better choices, exercising portion control, and severely limiting alcohol intake, sticking to around 18oz of beer a week.

Better choices...I used to eat potato chips/crisps for my between-meal snacks, chocolate, things like that. Now it's yogurt and fresh fruit, mainly.

We're both exercising a bit more as well. I'm walking three miles a day (treadmill) five days a week, and MrsT is doing about half that.
