Try the Fife coast - it sure as hell isn't too hot here! Enough of that, though - I tried a bit of an experiment yesterday, potato pancakes Hungarian-style, with lashings of garlic. I was pleasantly surprised when the brown mulch I had created turned out not only to look pleasing in the frying pan, but very edible when it came out.

It's still morning here, and I'm about to go cook coffee and my usual poached egg on toast. It's been hot here lately, so I will probably just have salad and maybe a grilled cheese sandwich later, along with some fruit.

Today my husband killed one of our meat chickens. I cleaned it, cut it up, and make a really excellent lemon pepper chicken with it. These are the days I'm most proud of!

Today, I cooked scrambled eggs. I mixed some onion springs, salt, pepper, basil, onions and garlic with the scrambled egg. I also made some pancakes from scratch! It tasted great along with the strawberry jam and buttercream I put on it. In the afternoon, I made some home-made chocolate java chip frappe because I was craving for some, and the nearest coffee shop was more than 100 kilometers away. It tasted great though! If somebody wants the recipe, I will be more than willing to share it! Just let me know! :hyper::thankyou:

We had beef porridge for lunch and probably for dinner tonight as well. We cooked a big cauldron of porridge with beef brisket for the main flavor. But as a side dish, we have fried tofu strips that are crisp to the bite that is mixed with boild pork belly that is cut into strips also. The dip is a special mix of vinegar, soy sauce and garlic (plus some secret ingredients). A bowl of that beef porridge is very filling much more with the saucer of the tofu and pork. We really had a nice lunch today... I feel heavy again, hahahaaa.

For lunch today we are having blue cheese and home grown broccoli soup. For our evening meal we will be having roast chicken, roast parsnips, home grown broccoli and home grown potatoes.

Today I heated up some mushrooms and tossed those lovely oddly shaped treats into an iceburg lettuce and tossed a little bit of a tasty vinaigrette dressing in as well as more than enough pepper; I really like pepper. It wasn't anything to be fancy, I just wanted to try a more unique salad instead of doing any out there cooking today.

Today I felt like eating spam and eggs for breakfast. I loaded on food really early so I had to make up for it by eating salad for lunch (mixed greens, cucumber, tomatoes and apple cider vinegar) and had stir fry veggies for dinner too. I've been binge eating!

I cooked special fried rice with diced carrots, onions, garlic, ginger, chilli, celery, beans and chicken. Finished off with fresh coriander and a fried egg on top. Also a wedge of fresh lime, spring onion, sliced cucumbers as garnish and a Thai chilli sauce made with fish sauce, salt, fresh lime juice and sliced chilly in a separate bowl for every body to help themselves.

Two days no cooking have been two two south coast food fairs met up with a couple of TV chefs had some great food and drink an a ice cream in the sun ,reality starts again Tuesday but I have leg of lamb butterflied and hanging for the BBQ tomorrow

I was so tired from the brief vacation so I decided to just have a ready meal - baked beef roll. I instructed our housemaid to do the dough and my husband cooked the beef for the stuffing. Once done, the roll was rolled with the cooked beef inside. Baking in the oven takes only 30 minutes and the sizzling beef roll is good for lunch. It would be great if we had vegetable salad, potato salad is best, but I said I am tired so no more salad. Just that beef roll and soda. Burp.

Yummy, baked beef roll. We call it beef Wellington. Nice mixed vegetables and roast potatoes go also well with it. If you want a really fancy sauce, try hollandaise or bearnaise sauce.
Tonight we have a Swiss national dish served on hot days. We have 34 degrees Celsius. We have Bircher Muesli. Rolled oats, mixed with fresh and dried fruits and nuts, yoghurt, milk. Love it, healthy and refreshing.
