What did you eat or cook today (December 2024)?

But the hypothetical me needed to see it before I could decide whether to order it or the broccoli salad, LOL!
Does this help?

Well apparently it was good. But those weren't English cucumbers. Thasss allriiiiight, I know that the Amish aren't big on the English (for anyone who finds that a confusing statement, the Amish call anyone who isn't Amish "English" no matter what they look like or where they come from). Now I am just assuming that this was an Amish diner based on the image of the guy above the pie case...

spinach, falafel & date salad with hummus dressing, cottage cheese and pine nuts
I LOVE that idea; someone has just gifted me a box of dates direct from Qatar, and although I can't get cottage cheese here, I've got some lovely Bulgarian feta which will work just as well.

Been super busy lately. Been cooking daily. It’s been raining all day so I started organizing my recipes. A note book for seafood recipes. Another for beef, one for pork, another chicken. Realized I need one for potatoes and veggies. Another for sauces and recipes that don’t fit in any of the others. Found a recipe I had for bourbon maple chicken that I’ve had for a long time and have never made because I thought Bourban would dominate the flavor. I made it this evening and it was really good and you could barely taste the Bourban.

Went to put medtran49 ’s Hot n Sour soup recipe in my folder (yes it’s worthy of printing and filing) and discover the soup thing must be a common desire when I get to Spain because it’s the the fourth soup recipe to go in my new folder already and the other three are all also Asian flavoured soups 😂

Including a hot n sour one I made up that I appeared to have named “Noodle Soup for Poorly People Who Need A Blanky and Some Crap TV” 🤣
