What did you eat or cook today (December 2024)?

Yesterday evening's dinner: broccoli, anchovy, garlic and lemon pasta with a touch of peperoncino. Done and dusted in 30 minutes. Made me think once again how simple and delicious Italian pasta dishes are. The hardest thing was getting the pasta cooked perfectly "al dente"

I find "al dente" almost impossible with bought pasta, but extremely easy with home made.
The bought stuff goes from too hard to teeth sticking soft in seconds
Maybe I'm not buying the right stuff

It does seem to involve a hell of a lot of hovering and eating 'almost there' pasta to get it out anywhere near where you want it 😆

Too warm to even consider cooking...

Salad

Did make a new dressing though I know TR won't like it because it's got saffron in it!

I vaguely remember Blue Plate mayonnaise. I spent a good bit of time in Louisiana (my dad was born there), but over in NW Florida it wasn't a thing.
It's available here now, as well as Duke's, but Craig prefers Kraft. At least I finally got him off Miracle Whip.
