Have you ever watched any of the dash cam videos from Russia on YouTube? If not, check some out. It always makes me wonder, can people really be that stupid?

Yes, I've watched a few. They are not much less stupid here. Thailand is the country with second highest road deaths in the world I believe.

0.2 below Tanzania. But as a continent it's Africa.
But the surprising thing is the number of deaths in the middle east. They have really good roads and good vehicles still so many deaths. I think it's more about "playing around" with luxury vehicles that cause deaths there.

If you are asking if "we" in the US have dash cams, the answer is "yes." Do I personally have one, "no." It is something I've looked into, but never quite pulled the trigger on buying.

You can get a GoPro and use it as a dash cam. The only issues I have with dash cams is that they constantly need recharging and second, I really have had no use for one.

Not yet.

Mine plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet so does not need re-charging separately. I'm sure the battery will be defunct eventually but it's currently OK (after 2 years).

Many years ago, a truck reversed into me at traffic lights. He was trying to negotiate a path around a car which was turning right to which he was too close. Luckily there was a Bobby close by who heard my horn and saw the whole thing. If not, a dash cam would have been the only evidence that I had.

The Bobby held on to both our licences until we settled. I had to follow the guy to his house (some 10 km away) in order that he could collect a gold necklace in order to pawn it and pay me the $25.00 that I demanded for the damage. It was a "top of the head" guess by me - it actually cost $35.00 for the repair.

You are correct, there is a cigarette lighter charger/power plug-in available for GoPro cameras.

When I bought my current vehicle new, it came with a GoPro mount on the upper passenger side window, but not with the GoPro, just the mount point. GoPro has accessory mounts to do dash cams.

Seems I always get hit from behind. Not sure what that means on a cosmic level.

The last one, I was sitting still at a red light, when a Ford Excursion (6,000 pound SUV) driven by an idiot doing something other than paying attention, drove up my back. He was in the US illegally, and had no insurance. Damage to my car was a bit more than $25 -- about $16,000 dollars more. I got it repaired by the best German car body shop in Dallas, and sold it. A car with $16,000 in damage is never going to be right again, no matter who repairs it.

About 20 years ago, someone hit me from the rear in my truck, which had a custom rear bumper that sustained minor damage. The driver of the other truck got out and asked me if I was okay -- then he got in his truck and took off. Someone who witnessed the accident followed him. The guy ditched the truck in a residential neighborhood, and ran off. The witness called the police. Turns out the truck that hit me was stolen. The damage to my truck was a couple-hundred bucks, so it was not a big deal. But, I have to look back and laugh that a guy in a stolen truck who ran into me got out and asked me if I was okay.

As you may have seen in another thread, yesterday I ordered a Valentine's meal box of ingredients from a local restaurant. The guy who took my order over the phone was very good, but when going through my details he did ask "How many people is the meal for?"

Clearly some people in Leicester are have much more adventurous valentines evenings than me and Lu.

Did you answer back, "Unfortunately, just two."

I was hoping for there to be three of us, but I wanted to invite Tiffany, and my wife wanted to invite Brad.
