What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today (2025)?

Obtained a bag of last years blanched squash from the freezer for something. Tired of eating squash casserole so maybe soup, stir fried, no idea...

If you have a chance, get maesri or mae ploy red curry paste
Or the other colours
Or make them yourself ;)
Brand choice isn't really an option here in lower Appalachia! 🤣 I'll go with making them from scratch after I buy a commercial product as a reference point.

Thanks though for the suggestions! 😄

Shout and I can give you some recipes.
Of your 2 choices, don't go Japanese.
They are not curry eaters and generally theiir curry is a weak version of an Indian curry
Thai red works awesome with squash.
I normally use butternut and add potatoes and sweet potatoes, but that's not necessary.
What I like is to cut the squash in 75% small pieces, rest bigger, so when the small pieces disintegrate, the bigger ones are there, keeing some structure

The Japanese ones looks mostly like mustard!
I've got the yellow summer squash and a sweet potato I can use and some coconut milk to throw in. I'll see!

Recipes for the curry would be great! Have to eat the one I've got; won't take long since that jar is so small.👍

Thank you.

Whats yellow summer squash?
Like oversized courgette?
I thought of the hard squashes like butternut and pumpkin.
Will still work if soft squash, just different, still good :)
Yes to coconut milk
Bit of fresh coriander leaves at the end (cilantro, or even culantro but then not at the end but half way in).
All kind of basil just before serving are good as well.

Have the cilantro, ground coriander(different), and basil.

I'll post in the what I cooked thread later.

Thank you,
