I don’t like them either, because I’m not a fan of that anise, licorice-y flavour.

Now that you’ve pointed out that they look like spiders, I have an extra reason to not like them!
 
I’ve just ordered some gin for my little ride out, haven’t had a boozy drink for some time so I’ve gone upmarket mini bar on it 😆

In lockdown I drank a boatload of these (why not we’re all about to die anyway), in the boredom I decided to wire the empties together to make myself a mini blue crown 😂

I had ‘em and the recipe said to use ‘em, so in they went, creepy little things that they are.

It’s funny…I’d never used star anise until probably 18 months ago, for a recipe for a challenge here, no doubt, and I can’t really recall using them much since, but after yesterday’s cocktails, I have only one left. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Aw, thanks for the compliment! Unfortunately my right hand is still a bit wonky from when I broke it 1 year ago yesterday. Good thing I’m a lefty!
