You ever fixed a baked chicken with tequila and lime?Wait...what? You've got my attention.
No, not chicken, but I made a tequila-lime crema. for some fish tacos I'd made, so I do like the flavor. You ever fixed a baked chicken with tequila and lime?
baked tequila lime chicken recipe at DuckDuckGo
Kind of like that except I'll mix the tequila and lime with the ground chicken as it's amalgamating and then make my "meat plug" with the ham press thing.View attachment 122897
SandwichShortOfAPicnic What do you think Cor? Mix it in with the next batch of pork run and see if they notice??? 🤔View attachment 123233
Like I'd sell jerky at work and when they're halfway through the bag ask if they could taste the squirrel??? 🤔Who notices? You going to engage in some deli meat swapping shenanigans? 😂
Trust me! It's organic...Like I'd sell jerky at work and when they're halfway through the bag ask if they could taste the squirrel??? 🤔
That's kind of a serious thing in the south. My late mother lived in Tallahassee (the capital city of Florida for those of you who live abroad) and my foster sister and her son lived with her for awhile. I remember going to visit and looking through the freezer, and finding a bag of mystery meat. I asked her what it was, and she told me my nephew had been squirrel hunting again...rats with furry tails basically except that they are vegetarians.Like I'd sell jerky at work and when they're halfway through the bag ask if they could taste the squirrel??? 🤔

During the Great Mad Cow Scare of the…’90’s, they did issue warnings about eating squirrels, the brains anyway. No concerns about bubonic plague then?

We grew up eating squirrel. Hands down my paternal grandad’s favorite meat. Nothing else even came close for him.
I think it tastes a lot like rabbit. What does it taste like then?
Well there are a few differences between squirrels and rats. Squirrels don't eat meat while rats are omnivores. Rats are pretty smart and squirrels are mostly not. Rats are nocturnal, squirrels aren't...I'm sure there are more. I've never eaten either!Weird to think they still carry the Black Death isn’t it.
Apparently doesn’t matter so long as they’re properly cooked.
Squirrels are mostly viewed quite affectionately here which is weird when you consider how freaked out people are by other rodents.
What does it taste like then?
