I am vaccinated, but still unable to get a booster because the Netherlands is the slowest country in Europe with boosters..It's winter in the northern hemisphere and viruses love the indoors especially with inadequate ventilation. Get vaccinated. First person I know personally just died of covid last week and he was unvaccinated. It's not that vaccinated people aren't dying of covid because they are it's just more difficult for the virus to do it's job. Omicron could be the variant that could change everything and reduce symptoms to flu like. fingers crossed.

They say everyone should get one in January, but the system has been so overloaded with requests that booking an appointment has been impossible for the entire last week so I am not hopeful as there's still 8 million people to go and we're going by age group and not last vaxx date which was june 3 for me.
I just hope Omicron isn't going to spread any faster than it already is.
Slow booster shot rollout cost lives, experts say
Yeah, thats everywhere where there are actual sensible policies. Here it is just done by the date of your second vax. I got mine at a local pharmacy (chemist). I made an appointment online in the morning, and got the shot that afternoon.

Vaccinations are still mostly effective and like I keep mentioning and talking about it's your B cells and T cells that do the actual fighting against hospitalization and death. The antibodies in the vaccines from the jab are just the gatekeepers trying to keep the virus out but it's the B and T cells that keep you alive. A booster will help a little, but not much in reality.I am vaccinated, but still unable to get a booster because the Netherlands is the slowest country in Europe with boosters..

Along with about 100 rhino virus' there are 4 corona virus' that cause what we call the "common cold". In time this virus will weaken and our population will gain better immunity so that we have 5 corona virus' causing colds. How long this transformation into the endemic stage lasts is anyone's guess. The new 'word' for covid is endemic, meaning it is soon to be normal and here all the time. There will no longer be waves, but just a continuing condition of covid in our lives, unrelenting and without pause. Oh boy, what fun.
Who do we thank for such a lovely time?
That is the hope and just another corona virus to deal with every year. Before that happens Omicron is going to make Delta look like a ripple in a pond as far as case counts are concerned, it's definitely going to cause havoc. Hopefully and so far it appears that hospitalizations and death are not following the same trend, not even close, which is a classic proxy of a pandemic to then become endemic. We'll know within a few weeks if this is the case, but it looks like it's going this way.The new 'word' for covid is endemic, meaning it is soon to be normal and here all the time. It's just not feasible to stop everyone. Anyone that is tested and tests positive I'm pretty sure they are not allowed to just go freely, not sure where you heard that, but I can assure you that is not normal or a policy in any country. People are struggling everywhere especially people stuck in places they're trying to leave from and the People from around the world trying to leave south Africa after the smart people though banning travel from Africa was a good idea with many families, children and people stuck with no direction. We need compassion right now and not division imoLooks like we are forced to just keep on thanking the brainchild that keeps on letting these infected people through the door, instead of holding them in quarentine & sending them back to where they came from!! It is just not fair that they are allowed to come into the coiuntry, knowing that they are dangerously sick & could cause superspreaders to others who are vaccinated!!!
As of 34 minutes ago France closed its boarder with Britain to control the influx of Omi. You should hear the privileged well off crying about how their Christmas holiday in the Alps has been ruined. These are the same people who would be screaming for the Channel tunnel to be shut if the French infection rate was much higher than ours and their skiing holiday wasn't at stake.Looks like we are forced to just keep on thanking the brainchild that keeps on letting these infected people through the door, instead of holding them in quarentine & sending them back to where they came from!!
