They were faster than expected! Glad to hear it. Hope all went well
Sadly not. This was the lower spine, not my neck. Not yet had the MRI (next week) or seen my consultant for the arm issues relating to my neck :( and that definitely won't be day surgery, though I nearly ended up staying overnight on HDU rather than getting to go home.

The plans for today are a lunchtime river cruise and an advance scouting of the train station for our move to Bayeux tomorrow.

I’ll say this - I don’t know what the deal is, if it’s remnants of covid or what, but I’ve never seen a city this quiet at this time of year. Streets are almost empty, at least it feels that way, and we stood on the bridge next to the Eiffel Tower yesterday and watch tour boat after tour boat leave with maybe 20% capacity filled, and no lines to eat, cafes are maybe 30% full, tops, no crowds in the shops, nothing. The only busy place has been the trains, and most of those have been tolerable.

Locals may be staying home a lot right now, since Putin has made their petrol and natural gas very expensive. I imagine that is putting a pretty good dent in disposable income.

But did it help, or will you not know any time soon?

Made it to St. Lazare train station. I can’t call it by the proper French name because I’m sat between a BK (“Home of THE WHOPPER!” written out) and a Starbucks.

I left home for this? I can sit between BK and Starbucks in my little hometown!

Your inner Brit is starting to take over. By the time you get back to Ohio, nobody there will understand you.
