Plans for today (2023)

I think I’m onto something…

We had supper tonight and just so happened to be seated next to a couple we sat next to day before yesterday. They’re very nice, and we bonded a little over finding out the woman (Mindy) and I share a lot of personality traits, and that the man (Max) is more like MrsT. We had a good laugh over that.

Anyway, they asked us what we’d done today, with the unexpected sailing day, and I mentioned I did laundry.

The woman asked me how the laundry worked, buying tokens and all that, how long it took, etc.

She was complaining a little about having to do laundry, and expecting the machines to always be in use, and MrsT said that they could always take advantage of the laundry service.

“I don’t want strangers <both of us together> touching my dirty laundry! Hahahahahaha!”

Now I’m wondering if I’m in the majority, which is offending my normal contrary streak!

....re laundry, I could easily survive for two weeks on a trip without doing any (or having it done). I reckon we wash we clothes far too much.

I have my "bumming around the house" clothes, and my "going out in public" clothes. That way, I can wear some things, like pants and shirts, multiple times. Socks and underwear are the only things I have to change everyday.

I hope to get some challenge cooking done this evening.

Well, it rained all day, and I was ready to cook. Then, buzzzz... buzzzz... boom. Power out. Something blew up on the grid, and cooking was not going to happen for a while. It came back by 9PM, and I may still do it, but I've gotta' get re-motivated.

Busy day - breakfast (having that now), then there’s some sort of outdoor market thingy going on in a bit, and a vegetable and fruit carving demonstration I might watch.

There’s also an afternoon tea today, we’ll do that for sure, and tonight we have fancy restaurant dining, and it’s formal night as well, so I get to wear a nice plaid jacket to supper.

After that, it’s a comedy show, so it feels like a full slate today.

I suppose it depends on how much a person packs. We’re gone for 19 days, and I packed for around a week, with laundry thrown in there, for the underpants, undershirts, and socks mainly, but since those get washed, I may throw some other things in there as well.

Trousers/shorts, yes, those I can wear several times, as long as I don’t spill something on them, but shirts, I can sweat right through those, depending on what’s happening that day, so shirts I can wear just the once, so I packed just a couple of trousers, but a full week of shirts.

MrsT spills things on herself nearly every meal (stroke after-effects), so depending on whether it’s just a drop or two or, say, an entire glass of OJ, she usually needs some stuff laundered.

Underpants strategy - she differs in that she brings a fresh pair for every day, even though I’m doing laundry, and I just bring a week’s worth. 🤷🏻

Oh…the $15 I spent on tokens…she just got refunded because of her status, so it ended up being complimentary anyway! 😎

Here’s an example of an “at sea” day:

Stay away from the "Fine Art Gallery - Consultation." My sister has a house full of "collectable art," which are all "limited edition" prints she bought on cruises. I told her several times that none of that 💩 would ever go up in value, but she argued with me every time. The question, "Which one of us has an Art Degree from an accredited University?" meant nothing to her, because the "consultants" said they were certain to go up in value over time.:banghead:
