Plans for today (2024)

I’ll mostly be ringing around trying to find out what appointment it is my mum is panicking about and then trying to book someone to take her. I so wish hospitals would get the bloody hang of sending appointments to the person who actually needs to know about them!

Also waiting for the rain to clear so I can go outside and groom the dogs.
It’s overdue, they stink and have a few mats so not a lot of fun but Mr SSOAP said he’d help. That’s the first time ever helping with dog grooming, watch this space 😬

On the upside I have sticky lamb stew to look forward to so that’s something! 😊

Just about to head out and drive down the mountain into "The Big City" - hate this, but it must be done.
DH has yet another new doctor (a specialist) that we can't get up here in Cowboyville Arizona USA, dang it all!
Actually, what happened is we did have this guy who has been taking care of this particular issue, but the reginal hospital he was associated with would not re-new his contract to come up here once a month, so we're following him "into the valley".
This is the draw back to living in a rural area 🤷‍♀️ oh well.
I've got my "big girl panties" ready and waiting for me after a nice shower... need desperately to wash my hair!

Mr SSOAP was a real help especially considering he's never groomed out a dog before.

The ringing around and waiting for people (hospitals, clinics etc) to get back to me about what appointment it is my mum is panicking about finished today when the last hospital returned my call to say that yes she did have an appointment on 19th... last month which they did over the phone 🙈

Even though I told my Pa "Just because she's sounds cogent doesn't mean what's coming out of her mouth is true" I still fell for it myself and was worrying about getting someone to take her to the appointment.. doh!

Anyway alls well that ends well.

This morning I have to sort out the pile of suitcases (yes it’s a pile) which are mostly unpacked but still have some stuff rattling around in them, then find them all a new home because I need space for the outdoor kitchen table that will be delivered tomorrow 👏 👏 👏

I like to keep wood in the house to thoroughly dry it out before dousing in wood preservative, that way I know it’s absorbed as much preservative as possible. You also get an opportunity to catch any bits that may warp over time.

It annoys Mr SSOAP a bit because he feels it’s excessive walking around piles of wood for a prolonged period but it makes me happy so he puts up with it, what a good man 😊

Then I need a break so I’m taking this afternoon off as a whimsy Wednesday and every other job can just bog right off till tomorrow!! 😀
