Plans for today (2024)

Today was supposed to rain all morning and early afternoon so I decided to move my work to tomorrow afternoon when it's not going to be raining. Well, it didn't rain, of course...yet. They expect it to move in later this afternoon. At any rate, a good day for baking! I found a recipe for blueberry muffins using sourdough starter discard (of course) and I have 2 pints of fresh blueberries in my refrigerator. At the moment I am just drinking tea, moving on to coffee next, then a light brunch (probably around 2)...

Small amounts of caffeine, like in tea, can help dilate blood vessels and help in remediation.
That's worked for me before, but I have to take it within a short time of the headache starting.

What really has helped the most though is taking metoprolol, prescription only, main use for high blood pressure. When my doctor first gave it to me when I was much younger, my BP wasn't elevated and, although it worked for headaches, nearly passing out because of low BP didn't. So, when my BP started to get too high, I requested to be put on metoprolol. Very rarely have migraines now and BP is controlled.

Okay, so the reason that I don't like to make definitive plans on my days off is I often don't stick to them. Instead of baking blueberry muffins, I looked over paperwork for my jobs tomorrow, washed the brunch dishes, and cut some fresh chicken breasts into thin medallions to put in cryovac bags and freeze, with a cryovac bag of chunks and odd pieces to make soup with in the future. I'm working Wednesday, too. Maybe Thursday I will bake those muffins!

Had to book flights home tomoz 😞 but I did manage to get a food order in so won’t be returning to empty cupboards 😊
Even managed to chuck in the pickles that normally go out of stock around Christmas time and some those dark chocolate coated sour cherries M&S have started selling. Yum.

I haven't figured it out yet. Rainy and wet here.
I walked into the kitchen and was blinded by this strange, orange globe shining through the windows. We got home November 10th from our vacation and it's been rainy (or snowy) and cloudy every day but 4-5 ever since.

Annoyed this morning, as we may have guests Saturday, for whom I’ll be expected to cook, but said guests can’t make up their minds as to whether they’re coming or not.

Right…cereal it is!

I’ve also got to put the finishing touches on what we’re having Christmas Day, a couple of other festive things I want to make, wrap gifts…I’m finding I don’t like going away for Thanksgiving and then again two days later for a week - that time is usually my main planning time, so in my heart, I feel like Christmas is still two weeks away, but my head keeps saying, “Think again, old boy…”
