Plans for today (2024)

Took son to the gym, then delivered some hot sauces and chutneys to friends.
For the rest of the day, I plan to do nothing. Didn't get back from the dinner last night until 12.30am, so I imagine a "do nothing"day is deserved!
I've never met you, but I kinda see you as a jumping bean or Jack Russell type, bouncing all over the place. The idea of you doing nothing is hard to imagine!

Spot on.
Still, I'm going to make a concerted effort to do nothing today - will report back!

Found out guests aren’t coming to the house Saturday, so that’s a bit of a load off. We’re still meeting in the afternoon/evening for a seasonal event (Kings Island Winterfest - basically, pay an exorbitant fee to walk around a an amusement park that’s otherwise shuttered for the season and pay even more for watery hot chocolate and dry cookies).

Still, you don't have to cook, entertain, and clean up the mess in your own house! I'd say that's a win. Eating a big lunch before you go?

I agree that it’s a win - I’ve got some personal griping I’m keeping to myself about the whole thing, but I’m accentuating the positive.

We’ll be meeting at McD’s before we go into the park. There are kids involved.

We have a couple of places that are loaded with Christmas lights and decorations, with amusement park rides and food trucks. Pretty pricey, but it does get you in the mood for Christmas in a place with no cold weather to speak of and no snow.

There's also a county park that puts up light displays and sets up a limited area radio station to play Christmas songs that match the decorations. You drive through. It's pretty reasonable.

Well...
It's now 11pm over here and I'm proud to announce that I did nothing today.
Watched about 3 hrs of TV; played scrabble online, didn't cook (bread and French brie, with a lump of Stilton for good measure), and that was it.
