Plans for today (2024)

Just go back to university full time and start with 6 day weeks and find that's not enough. You'll soon either forget it needs to be done, or do it.
Not on your nelly!
I swore I’d never re-enter education again and less than 6 months after leaving uni I went back because I had to get a further specialised qualification for what I wanted to do. I was so over the whole thing. I promised myself I’d never ever forget or put myself through any more of it.

So yer thanks for the suggestion but I think I’ll stick with the prevaricating 👍
Oh and umm good luck 😂

Oh good. I need some ideas on what to do with my fresh sage. I did use some of it for something and it turned out really great, but I was tipsy and now I can't remember what I cooked, LOL!
The first thing I think of with fresh sage is saltimbocca - but for me, that just means two leaves.

Sometimes, if I have fresh herbs like that, and I just want to use them up, I’ll throw a few in the pan when I’m frying an egg, or anything else, really, just to sort of flavor things a bit along the way.

I remember it was a sage brown butter something...oh yes it was scallops and shrimp over pasta. It was really good (I know you can't put seafood and good in the same sentence lol).

I mostly use sage with chicken or in sausage gravy, but that's with dried. This is the 1st year I've had fresh growing.

Guess I never learn.

Did 3 yrs BSc Hons, then did(n't) do 2½ yrs of an organic chemistry PhD. Then we both started a UK OU course for a Master of Maths but the uni withdrew the course, so we had to drop it because we couldn't complete it in time frame of it ending as well as work full time.

So hubby got his work to sponsor him to do a MSc when we were in the UK, before going off around the world... he completed that and I'm now trying again at my Master course having 'served' 7 years in a UK boarding school as a member of staff...

I think the only time I was happy outside of education, was when I worked for the armed forces as a civvy, which I loved.

Some people are definitely built better for educational establishments than others.
I’m not one of them!
I loved books and the actual learning but the odd lecturers who needed (and were) treated like demi-gods and the grovellers around them were something I found quite unpalatable, I’m sure you dislike that part too.
I’ve never enjoyed jumping through hoops set by others, I dislike structure and being told what to do so most institutions including formal education really was/are an effort for me!
Tbh I only persevered with it because I wanted a job that didn’t make me feel bad and education was at 21years old the only route I could see open.

Having an MSc is already an impressive feat. Outside of medicine the majority aren’t sporting a qualification anywhere near that level. A masters is IMO a very worthy pursuit! Lofty stuff indeed. All power to your elbow.. buy the slow cooker 😂

Grocery and coffee out later.

Reading, writing, learning...

It was fascinating to read about Screen autism. Linked to children, their development and learning.

I’m off work today. That means scrambled eggs for breakfast instead of cereal, then out to Sam’s Club for toilet paper, which I forgot to get on the last visit, and ducking into JCPenny after that to reexamine some clothing options I saw yesterday - I just hate paying full price!
