Plans for today (2025)

If I take a nap it takes another 2 days to get to sleep... šŸ˜¬
...except for those days when you say "hmmm, I'm just going to get rid of the weeds around that flower bed", and 4 Ā½ hours later, you stagger into the kitchen, grab a beer, down it in one, decide to sit down "quietly" to watch a bit of innocuous TV and wake up 3 hours later.

So yesterday I prepped vege samosas and pastry wrapped in fridge. Today I got everything ready so wife only had to fold Samoa. In freezer now. I got 34.
We cleaned out freezers. What a bounty we have.
Whole paua/abalone whitebait a doz shoulder lamb chops. Pork chops from raffles.. we dont eat but daughter will take.aboit 1/2 bucket thrown out.freezer burnt. That's just 1 chest freezer.
I'm doing stir fry tonight and tomorrow chicken satay as I found satay sauce and chicken thighs in freezer as well.

Due to factors beyond my control Iā€™ve found myself pretty narked today.
This has led to a downing of tools and Iā€™m only just ready to have my shower and start the day.. at nearly 7pm šŸ˜‚
Heyho you gotta roll with it!
Sounds a lot like my wintertime schedule. Whole lotta nuttin'.

Can you control the circumstances? No?
Then don't get in a tizz over them. Not worth it. there are much more important things in life. (Like a G&T).

I donā€™t tend to get in a tizzy, it takes a lot to affect my mood negatively for any length of time.
On New Years Eve Mr SSOAPs cousin who was a lovely gentle guy committed suicide by throwing himself in the slurry pit.
I canā€™t imagine a worse way to die.
It was understandable, his girlfriend died, then his mum and dad both also passed away, he had cancer and aids.
I suppose I pushed it from my mind because Mr SSOAP was having his shoulder surgery and that was my priority.
Reckon whilst itā€™s well outside my control itā€™s ok to spend the day or more narked with the world.

On a lighter less depressing note both Mr SSOAP and I have decided to take a work day off together, this is a rare thing!
Iā€™ll be driving Miss Daisy (with his injured wing) out for some lunch somewhere, destination undecided!

I also need to pick up some food shopping as the youngest has some tough performance exams this week and has decided a weekend at home would be good, so one son arrives tomorrow pm the other Friday morn.

Curry (butter chicken) has been mentioned and Iā€™m thinking Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast, this will only be my second go at it but Iā€™m loving the make ahead ability of the gravy!
Iā€™m getting used to calling sauce gravy now.
In the Sopranos they often refer to the ā€œgravy being goodā€ and as they eat a lot of pasta in it Iā€™m left with the ā€˜orrible image of pasta swimming in meat gravy, just turning that one around now šŸ˜‚

Add some tongues to it!

Taking Mr SSOAP to the GPs this morning and then I have to start planning the excavation of the dining room.
It became a casual dumping ground for unused furniture, then it became packed to the rafters, now it's just a mess.

The new tv instillation for the planned cinema/tv room is booked for the 26th Feb.
I have just short of 6 weeks to clear it out, paint the walls (which of course I have elaborate painting plans for šŸ™„), strip, polish and re-upholster two sofas, two arm chairs and up-cycle some knackered nesting tables and a lamp. Oh and make some curtains.
I think I might be a bit too tight on time to anywhere near achieve this deadline!

I enjoy unrealistic expectations every now and then, the pressure usually makes me extremely productive but this one of my own doing is quite ridiculous, hopefully Iā€™ll remember to cut myself some slack along the way šŸ¤£

Heyho better get started.
Should I ever achieve what Iā€™m imagining Iā€™ll post a pic šŸ˜‚
