Turkey Jook or Congee with oodles of fresh Ginger Root in it and then some Green Onions/Scallion/Spring Onion served on top.
MMM!
Now that, is soul satisfying.
Back home in Hawaii, many folks will eat this on a cold and rainy day to warm them up. Also, it's very common to take your Thanksgiving Turkey carcass and make a big batch of Jook.

That bread!
What kind/brand/homemade is it?
It’s not homemade. I rarely make rye bread any more, because for whatever reason, rye flour has become hard to get ahold of locally for several years now.

That’s from a local bakery, Klosterman’s, and it’s their dark seedless rye.

Well, it could be a big Yorkshire pud with some brown gravy, but what it actually is is a Dutch baby with homemade buttermilk syrup:

The syrup tastes exactly like caramel sauce, so I save the rest for ice cream - one of the few times I’ll eat it, but that’s how good the syrup is.

Bacon on the side which, as per usual, didn’t make it to the photo shoot.
