One that is easily made vegan by switching the prawns for tofu or even just vegetables (according to the author) and it has my favourite spices in it!

If it's not a personal question, how big are your cloves of garlic?

Which begs the question - would you call those large (as per the ginger prawns recipe)?

They look about the same size as ours, if not a little smaller (25 mm long).

I'd say they are large. About an inch long and fat too. How big do you want?

Your recipe for ginger prawns detailed 4 large cloves of garlic - just checking.

My wife brought these home one time; the whole heads are no bigger than my thumb. Given my dislike of peeling garlic, I left these to her.

These I consider to be small cloves!

Yes - the easiest way to deal with cloves this small is to use a good garlic crusher. Now, thanks to @SatNavSaysStraightOn 's recommendation I have acquired the Rolls Royce of garlic crushers. Precision engineered, beautiful to use, easy to clean and VERY expensive (its WMF). Its weight in your hand tells you everything. It will last a lifetime. WMF Profi Plus Garlic Press

I honestly didn't bother with garlic crushers until I bought this one. There is no need to chop or peel even the biggest clove...

That's possibly three more years for me!

I'll stick with the peeling and liquidising, I think. Even though I hate it!
Its a pity there isn't a gadget where you can chuck them in whole and they come out peeled and pureed at the other end. I think there must be such a thing on an industrial level, as I can buy ready pureed jars of garlic here from Asian shops and I can't imagine the garlic is all peeled by hand. I wonder if they use a giant automated garlic press?

In the markets here they used to sell peeled garlic cloves (but not pureed) however it doesn't appear to be available any more. Not that I ever bought any because it always appeared to be "old" looking.
