Is there some kind of contractual obligation to have a sore foot? I just wonder, as I have had trouble with my right foot for a while. Various hospital visits, MRI scan (lying flat out listening to The Jam, could be worse), one doctor saying it's a neuroma, another saying it's not, on it goes.

Mine isn't bothering me this week. But changes in weather causes it to hurt.
It has bothered me off and on since 1968. Accidental shooting and my foot was in the way. I was 2.

Another really nice day has dawned. Frost again overnight 3C out when my OH went to work. Warming up nice already. Its a real shame I can't shower with the hole in my knee at the moment.

I had a better night, not brilliant but better but only because of the dose of morphine I took. I have also swapped sides with my OH because to get out of bed with my bad back, I have to roll onto to my left side. The least said about rolling onto my left side the better. I can't bluntly. Even lying down leaving me crying in pain for a good 15 mins until it subsides (this is the rib cage now...) I shall probably have to go to my Dr on Thursday. I'm not impressed. I'm not happy and I really don't want to be doing this. I have had to promise not to do anything today. that is going to be hard.

Yes. I have had Morton's Neuroma in both feet. It left me unable to walk more than 10 foot. It was caused in my case by an ill fitting shoe.
My OH has the reserve of arches in his feet. They have collapsed and left him needing custom orthopaedics (on the NHS, most people have to pay for them privately). He will never be able to go around without shoes on again. No walking on the beach in bare feet :( . If he tries, the bones move out of place in his ankle area and physically lock his foot and ankle whilst he is trying to walk and leave him in agony.

I hope for your sake they yet to the bottom of it very soon.

Ouch! But I guess you got off lucky - it could have been much worse!

Thankfully kids do seem to heal much more quickly from even severe injuries. My little brother was exceptionally young when boiling hot water was split over him. It got one of his feet very badly. Unfortunately he was being watched over at this point by our (now diagnosed as) batty grandma who being afraid someone would tell her off didn't do anything about it or say anything to my mother on her return from the toilets with my little sister (they were on a ferry at the time). It was only when my mum couldn't stop him crying and found his foot and the table wet and the cup empty that she put 2&2 together. The burn by that time was bad and needed specialist hospital treatment. He doesn't even have a scar!
(Our batty grandma also was afraid of being told off when my little sister pushed the same brother off a stool she wanted to sit on, he put his arm out to stop himself falling and snapped the arm literally. Both bones mid arm like the wrist. Grandma put him to bed like that and it was many hours before my parents were home. The A&E visit only happened some 8 hours after the incident! After that we put a stop to unsupervised baby sitting by her until both children were old enough to look after themselves.

This is another of the blankets my mother has knitted for me. I was careful to choose the colours. It is very heavy but makes for an excellent blanket to stay warm with on a cold night. It has seen a lot of use. That is an Australian queen sized bed.

I'm currently knitting one for a King Sized Bed (IKEA sizes as well) in Autumnal colours (UK autumnal that is). I will try to get a picture of it at the weekend for you when my OH can lay it on the bed for me to photo. It is about 6 foot long now, but I can't lift either of them easily with my bad back! I have promised my OH that I will do very little today, so I persuaded him to get it out and set it up on the chair I sit in in the sun room so I can continue knitting the brown one. Needless to say, they cost a lot to make even using 2nd hand wool reclaimed from scarves, cardies and jumpers being sold out of charity shops at the end of the season - you know those bins, 50p an item... :whistling: Plus the purchased of job lots of wool off eBay. It would be nice to learn to make my own wool, but my OH has said no to that one at the moment!

Gorgeous colours in the bedspread. I'm currently trying to knit a coat for the dog (a little less work than a bedspread) but he is a funny shape and I've unravelled it several times! I don't think making your own wool is going to be a good idea.... really I don't!

Talking of reclaimed yarn, have you ever used rag yarn (made from sliced up T shirts or other clothes?

That one looks like a cockerel!
I couldn't eat eggs if they had been fertilised (is it a cockerel?). This stems back to my vegetarian days. The point being that if fertilised they are potential chicks... I still couldn't eat them now, even though I'm not vegetarian.

Yes. I have all sorts of on-going foot issues.

Initially they are not chicks. They are nothing more than a cluster of cells on the yolk. If you collect the eggs every day and it goes straight into the fridge there is no chance of s chick. I personally see it had no worse than removing a calf from its mother and taking all her milk and at least my chickens get to roam free and are not slaughtered at 11 weeks old for their meat. Even eggs marked as free range (and I am talking about the UK here) can come from birds that have very little room and don't have access to anything other than a patch of bare soil. The regulations are rather lax to say the least. Plus I'm going to need a couple of chicks by the end of the season anyway, but none of my hens are showing any signs of being broody so no chicks will ever hatch from these eggs unless that changes. They leave the nesting box the moment they have lain, so nature is not going to happen)!

And yes he's a rooster. He was homeless and doing to be put down so a sanctuary rescued him along with 2 others that day. I know someone who works there, sorry volunteers there and I needed to deal with some issues in the flock before blood was spilt. He will also help defend the flock and is already dealing with some issues. Currently he is only mating with one bird, he has picked a favourite so it's not really an issue from that point of view. The last thing she is is broody!

I use some sari silk cut up in it. I picked one up off ebay sent over from Indian in a lovely hand stitched postage bag. It is red, orange and gold so works really well with the colour scheme I have going.

I thought perhaps you did...but they will heal in a few weeks.
Yep. It's just surviving till then. Just looking at a bottle of morphine and a glass of something to help my bowels. I think, though it is a close call, that the morphine tastes better. It's 3am so my judgement could be affected.
