Morning all 👋

Sorry for the unexplained absence, I've been rather under the weather, on the mend now 🤞

Hope you're good and have enjoyed some great food while I've been foul tempered (I have a tolerance of being unwell of about 2 days then I get pretty annoyed my body isn't made of titanium 🤣).

If I miss replying to something please excuse me, I don't have the ability for a long read at the mo.

Energy allowing I'm going to do some experimental kitchen tomorrow with 'Kettle Cooking'
Starting with a form of breakfast, mushroom omelette with sausage and beans. Fingers crossed.

Welcome back  do things in your own time.

We had a cool front come through early this morning. Not a lot of rain, but the temperature was better today... only got up to 88F/31C. The front is supposed to stall somewhere South of Dallas, so it probably won't make it even close to Houston.

But, we will be back over 100F by Wednesday.

Ok I don't always believe everything I hear. Or I'm TOLD. I make up my mind as I go. I have seen photos of places, and coastlines from 100 years ago and now. No change at all. The juries out here.

In order to help myself on the road to recovery, I have been setting goals each morning, physical things to get done each day.
Today I challenged myself with three goals:
Make Spam® Musubi for our lunch today
Make two half sized Kahlua Bundt Cakes as gifts
Cut up that mini Watermelon and Cantaloupe into bite-sized chunks... I bought them a few days ago. I had been a little apprehensive about handling a very sharp knife, but I took a deep breath and got it done! Everything!
I'm very pleased with my progress in the past five weeks since being released from the hospital.

The problem with politicians worldwide is that (a) generally speaking, they've got big mouths. They could probably talk the hind legs off a whole herd of donkeys. (b) generally speaking, they've got egos which are way out of proportion. (c) they are Sirens, in the Greek mythological sense. (d) they rarely deliver on what they promise.
That's why I think the best Prime Ministers in the UK over the past 50 years have been Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair. Right wing, and Left wing, but they actually delivered, unlike the rest of the dithering idiots who occupied the post.
Jury is still out on Rishi Sunak.

I totally agree about Margaret Thatcher albeit I am primarily a socialist. Her only fault, in my opinion, was if she made a mistake (which was rare) she wouldn't concede.
