I didn’t buy this but I’m thinking after reading about it I might go back and get some -

It literally translates as ‘boiled blood’
It was next to the chicken stomach’s and chicken liver so I guessed it was offal of some sort.

The write up I saw said-
“Texture of tofu, tastes like liver”
“Sangre encebollada is made initially by mixing fresh chicken blood with water which is then heated until set, then the block is sliced into thick pieces and fried with sweet, soft onions – and what tasted like a splash of sherry”
“..beautifully sweet, slow cooked Spanish onions, and without the cloying, overwhelming richness you’d get from a plate full of liver.”
“..it was a real treat, smushed into bread with its tender oniony friend. I’d love to try it with loads of ginger, spring onions and a big squooosh of Sriracha.“

What do you think? Are you up for it or do you want to chuck at the mere thought?! 😂

O

Ours is 9 oC
With 14% humidity
40 oC and still rising
And silly me is about to boil wort to make beer
At the moment we have the climate of north western Australia, around Darwin due to the weather. We're usually down around or below 30% humidity but unusually it's very high at the moment (over 75%). I'm in south east Australia. It was 22°C with 84% humidity at 7am this morning. We're expected to reach 34°C today. Next month and February are usually the high 30's and into 40°C.

Tomorrow will be worse those.

I've eaten blood sausage (pork) but I'd draw the line at chicken blood!
Bloods blood though.
Neither the pig or the chicken was keen on parting with it so why not give it go?
You never know it might be good 🤷‍♀️

I’m guessing if it was too much of ‘an acquired taste’ they wouldn’t shift enough of it to have it on a mainstream supermarket shelf.
Watch me eat my words 😂 🤮

It's going to be one of those night. Multiple thunderstorm cells on all 4 sides as well as overhead... lightning every 5-10 seconds and almost constant thunder. (6 separate weather warnings at the moment).

I can't sleep through lightning. It fascinates me and even with my eyes closed I can still see it. And I'm useless at sleeping when there's noise around. 🥱
