I think summer might have arrived! It wasn't due until January and February...
If I had realised I would have got hubby to buy more watermelon for the chooks. We put it out frozen for them to help them stay cool. I'll have to use the ice cube maker instead.

I’ve done a rarity for me…called the store ahead of time to make sure they have the one big item I need (standing rib roast), and I found out they go on sale Monday, so I’m going Christmas gift shopping tomorrow and using my last remaining day off for the year to run out Monday and get my meat and bones!
I’m sure I’ve mentioned it recently, but I’m amazed that I can go out on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurants will be near empty. Not good for the owners, but I love it.

I'd prefer that too.
Some ne’er-do-well lifted my credit card number sometime over the last few days and tried to buy $50 worth of…something. Thankfully, the credit card company nabbed it and blocked it and called me.

I was surprised - Kroger was sort of busy, but not really, and this is a newer one in a big built up area. I didn’t even have to wait in a line.

Some of it depends on time of day and how cold it is outside I think. Or maybe because it's 11 days until Christmas, people are out shopping for gifts today and will be buying groceries a few days before the big day. I dunno!

I went to two supermarkets today, a Brit one about 40 mins away and a large Spanish hypermarket in the town across from here and the roads and the supermarkets were very empty.
But here they only finished their long weekend of celebrations (four days worth) last monday so Christmas probably isn’t back in the running til they’ve recovered!
OMG! Is it really that soon. I need to get organised...

Thank goodness for online shopping. I sent both a sibling and a close family friend food boxes today--both of these people are solo so these dry-ice packed premium steaks, chick breasts, burgers, sides, etc. are cryovac individually are a perfect gift. Shipments will arrive 12/17.

I wrote the cards for immediate family today. They might just get there in time.
I don't have anything for my OH yet for Christmas or or wedding anniversary. I also still need stocking fillers for him as well. I've had to open his presents so I cooked her the serial numbers to register them within 30 days of buying them to get the extended warranties.
And today we bought the tree.
I've got mushroom growing that may make for some tasty dishes over Christmas period if the temperature drops at touch. 2nd heatwave is currently happening.
If it helps, the year ends soon as well.
