My aunt passed away a short while ago, she always said us Smith girls didn't make it past 80, she was 87 so there is still hope for me yet.
I'm so sorry to read that. Both my mom and my aunt thought they wouldn't live past 70 because their mom and dad didn't make it past 70, but my mom passed at 88 and her sister was 91.

I think you still have a long way to go!

Condolences on your aunt’s passing. I hope she had a peaceful of it.

I know Smith is a common name, but I would like to mention that my paternal great-grandmother was a “Smith girl.” :)

My nana passed at 66 from chronic smoking problems. My mum said she would pass at 66 also. She did, same conditions as my nan.
I'm 67 so I'm happy to break the cycle. I stopped smoking in 2006

My mum died last year at 95. Her brother is 98. Her sister died at 89, and her two remaining sisters are 84 and 87.
My sister passed last February at 68, and my brother, last year, 67.
Winston Churchill drank like a fish and smoked like a chimney until he was 93.
No-one knows when they will kick the bucket, so it's important to enjoy life to the maximun until your time is called.

She had alzheimers and was 'away with the fairies' for a long time, her passing was peaceful and pain free.

Tried doing my family tree but with being a Smith.....

Good news. The awful dreary downbeat pub next to where I live has a new landlady.
She plays rugby for a local team and is a lesbian, you might be wondering what that has to do with anything but the fact is the pub now has quite a lot of lgbtq+ patrons and the ambience has improved beyond measure.
I’m told for the first time in decades there’s actually a queue at the bar on Fridays and Saturdays and the whole place has a much jollier more civilised vibe.

I might even try to venture down there and have something to eat myself!

Today has been a cold day. For most of today it didn't get above 4°C and the fire has been struggling to get the sitting room warm.

On the bright side, I found hubby's wallet that he lost on Friday. We believe it dropped out of his pocket getting into the car. It was very windy on Friday and very wet. I found it today 200m from the house whilst I was walking down our track to check the postbox. He was lucky that the wind blew it directly down the track. Normally it isn't in that direction, but on Friday it was...

So satisfying when you find something like that for someone else!
