What’s going on in your garden (2025)?

Put my sprouting seeds in cups and in the sun!

Very sweet
I found they have to be harvested when ready. If even a bit too early, they are not good.
They are actually too sweet for me, but just the odd one is nice
I'd agree - we've got 3 or 4 varieties here, but they have to be perfectly ripe. Therein lies the rub. Perfectly ripe or they taste of very little.

I found this squash yesterday but 1 butternut squash I didn't know about. These set fruit before summer got too hot. Now that the weather is cooler, the butternut squash are setting fruit again and I found many smaller ones that were just starting to grow. I'll have to water the veg plot to help them out.

Oh and I forgot to post this. It's the best view of the grapes. The only thing left on the vine are grapes

They're netted over for a reason. They had to have their leaves removed about 10 days ago after an Australian vine moth found its way in and laid lots of caterpillar eggs. So I'm hoping they'll ripen, which they are doing slowly.

Was hoping to mow the back lawns this weekend, however we have had a lot of rain and frosts so no mowing this weekend.

A couple of weeks ago we chanced on some turf at $1 a roll. It looked dead, but the roots were trying to grow, so we bought it. We had a patch of our lawn missing roots and with the lack of rain, the chooks had scratched numerous new bare patches and were looking at dust baths in them....

We've had to put the sprinkler on every couple of days. We're now at 10 minutes every 3rd day. But it is doing well considering the ground around it has had the same watering and is still dead!

The bit in the center, is slowly coming back to life. It was a little further gone than the other 2 rolls but it's got roots which is more than most areas of the 'lawn".
