Broken bits included in this pic to show the wastage. There were more crumbs on the machine. I just sprinkled them into the pommery mustard in my sarnie.

As I've mentioned elsewhere this works out at -
Beef £10 approx for 42 slices
Chicken £11 approx for 38 slices

So 80 slices of sandwich meat for £21, bargain.

They are both very tasty, the Chicken pips it at the post as the beef IMO needs a slightly higher fat content.

I went strong on the seasoning, herbs and spices as when it's sliced thin it needs it. I was surprised to discover I'd probably go even bigger on that next time.

Next go will be a vegan roll. Well hopefully vegan, I would consider vegetarian if the ingredient really added something.

Anyone interested just google 'meat press' or 'ham press' recipes and youtube will as always provide!

I'll have a look see if I can find links to the recipes I watched and update this later 👍

I’d mentioned in another thread needing to replace some wee 2-tablespoon glass prep bowls that had broken over the years.

I could never find them that small in the cooking shops, so I had to turn to Amazon, ordered, and they finally arrived:

That’s 1 tablespoon! They’re more wee than my wee ones! How more wee could they be?! None more wee! These are so wee, the last little piggy didn’t cry wee wee wee all the way home, he cried, “Hey, did ya see them little bowls Tasty bought?” all the way home!

Sadly, but not too sadly, one was broken in shipment, so I got five, not the six I ordered, but I only needed three, so not so bad as to trouble myself with a return.

I love those little bowls.Perfect for a bit of chopped onion, or grated ginger or the elusive tsp of soy!
You've conveniently reminded me that I also have to do the same. I used to have 20 (I used them for samples of chutney, jam, etc. at events) and am now down to 3 or 4.

I need some too. I'm down to one from 6. Where they all we t I really don't know. They are difficult to break.

…and I finally got the wee bowls I intended to get. These are less wee than my weeest ones, but more wee than my least-wee-but-still-wee-for-sure-yeah ones - they’re my Gold-wee-locks bowls, because they’re just right:

These are 2 tablespoon-sized. The reason I had a hard time finding them before? I was calling them prep bowls, when apparently someone’s come along a while ago and renamed them pinch bowls. Kids these days, eh?

Silly really because pinch bowls is a pottery term for a sort of earthenware bowl formed between finger and thumb.

I hadn't intended to buy one and never thought I'd get one free, but my son has just given me a vacuum sealer for the kitchen! He had one, it broke down under guarantee, he bought another one ( a bit bigger) and then the first company gave him a free replacement! Whoopee!!

I never thought I’d want one, but now that I have it, I use it all the time. I use it to reseal bags of dry goods (crisps, nuts, whatever) as much as I do to vacuum-seal things for the freezer.

Oh, I thought long and hard if I really needed it or not. It's actually super useful, but will I use it regularly?
