Fermented tofu: salt, vinegar, Marmite, miso and thyme.
I'll have to try this sometime! This reminds me: I have a half jar of preserved lime, which I'll probably finish in about a month, and it takes about a month to get them where I want them. I'd better clean out 2 jars and get to work!

After 3 days it tastes like cheese. Really quite delicious!

Sous Vide Beef Brisket Bourguignon. Link added to the recipe. Get comfortable: it's going to take a while to read all of it!

It looks gorgeous.

We finished off the stuffed cabbage tonight. Veggie sides were both roasted: carrots with garam masala seasoning, and cauliflower with sumac and diced preserved lemons. I had second thoughts about the lemons when I mixed them into the cauliflower right from the start. Well, they did char a bit. Oops. :giggle: Hubby didn't like those "crunchy black things" because the lemon flavor was too strong. I, on the other hand, thought them rather tasty. Next time I'll mix them in about 10 minutes before the cauliflower is ready, though. No salads tonight - it's c-c-c-cold out there!

I needed to pick up my Western supplies this morning which involved a beer. Then before snooker I ate some left over laarb gai and some gherkins. Upon my return from snooker (after consuming copious quantities of beer) I ate some toast and marmalade.

I may go to bed now.

Two great ideas for roasted vegetables. :D
I was just about to say the same thing!

I have a ridiculous amount of carrots at the moment (6 pounds), and the little bit that I put in the Beef Bourguignon hardly made a dent. My dogs love carrots, but they can't possibly finish them all (though they'd probably like to try!). Roasting with garam masala is how I will use some of them, and I believe I saw a carrot soup recipe somewhere on this forum.

I have a glut of carrots too, and love them roasted with garam masala. The dog helps me out eating carrots before he goes to bed to clean his teeth.

@The Late Night Gourmet

You could slice and blanch your carrots then freeze in a zip bag. Make carrot smoothies. Carrot cake!! Holidays are coming up. Make carrot cake in mini bread tins. Freeze. Great to have on hand when guest drop in. A perfect gift for neighbors or service providers - baby sitter, mail carrier, lawn service, gardener, pool guy, barber/hairdresser. You get my drift.
