This evening, baked potato, husband's home made chilli and salad

The blackboard reads "BBQ beef roast & veg" but I'm sick with a sore throat & head cold so I might bump up the soup that's on the plan for tomorrow. There was a request from one of the kids for chicken soup. I want chowder.

Saturday night was pizza night. with home made tomato sauce, lots of onions (normal and red), lots of tomatoes, a bit of chilli, plenty of garlic, and strips of green pepper, oregano and fresh basil. There was very little cheese. Sunday's lunch was a toasted paneer and pickle sandwich in wholegrain bread. I had yet another salad on Sunday night, this time with grated carrots, mixed leaves, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, pecan nuts and almonds, a hard boiled egg and proper chips.

@Frizz1974 hope you feel better soon.

Last night was meant to be mushroom bisque... Other than my hubby didn't purée the soup, he tried using the handblender so it was more a finely chopped mushroom soup... And he didn't add the 'sour cream' which in our case is usually creamed cashew nuts and lemon juice. It also wasn't 'hot' as in spicy hot from the cayenne pepper so I don't think he added any of that either. It was served with veggie balls. I'm getting it again for tea tonight. Somehow I doubt it will have changed much.

Lovely. Not had this for years but reminds me of Saturday lunches when I was a child. I need to attempt a gluten free version. I've never had success with Yorkshire puddings. Reading up I think I've not had the fat hot enough before.

I think maybe 1 mistake some people make is to take the tray smoking out of the oven then put it on a cold hob to pour in the batter, the hob needs to be very hot.

I saved a tub of tired mushrooms before they decided to die, and sauteed them for an omelet. We had His-and-Hers halves (I broil the top of the omelet after the eggs just set in the pan on top of the stove): hubby's half had bits of ham and American cheese, my side had spinach and Swiss cheese. We each had a broiled tomato topped with Parmigiano-Reggiano, and half a baked apple (with butter, cinnamon, and sugar). I had set the last two pieces of baked French toast away for a time like today, so we each had a piece. I put them in bowls so the syrup would stay in place instead of run all over our plates.

Pork ribs.....
With Chinese cabbage.

The béchamel sauce was virtually spot on today. I reduced the milk quantity to 200 ml from 220 ml leaving the flour amount the same.

[Edit: and the ribs were very good]
