What did you cook or eat today (February 2025)

That was a favourite of ours. Getting the cheese to the right level of bubbling and browning however was always a problem. It killed so many dinner plates. They'd crack when exposed to the heat of the grill.
Le creuset plates etc are rated as ok to use with the grill.
You get a free workout while you lift them in and out too 💪 😂

American Football tea for me today!

I had the other half of this box meal yesterday so there were a lot more wings than shown above and the potato croquettes were extra (not in the box) and you're probably wondering where all the onion rings are, well they kept disappearing when I checked on the wings and turned them over in the middle of cooking!...

Mr SSOAP and I are tired after today’s exertions so debated not to bother with dinner as he didn’t look up to it.
So I suggested we put the steaks in the airfryer, I know banish me to the outer rim right now, but they were lovely.

I like my steak very rare and it delivered them perfectly, Mr SSOAP did sterling work microwaving mash swede and mash carrot n parsnip. My favourite thing of the ‘no cook’ week so far 👍
Of course it helps that I have 10 different mustards on the go at the moment - damn those cooking challenges! 😂

Now I’m jealous we don’t have something like Stuffington-Nobbs Brit Life Cricket Parcel!

Wimbledon is probably the only sporting event you’re likely to find any food promotion involved in and then it’s Pimm’s and Strawberries n cream 😂
But hey it’s fairly close to the Stuffington-Nobbs experience you’re after 😆

As DH & I were out and about running errands on Monday, we started a discussion on which is better:
Jersey Mike's or Jimmy John's
So I made an executive decision - we had a goodly portion of the Jersey Mike's Italian Sub leftover, so I did a fast drive-through at Jimmy John's for a Giant Italian Night Club to compare.

We still have some of the Jimmy John's sandwich left, it's that GIANT!
We both voted for my homemade version on bakery bought bread :D
I vote for the one on the left. It appears to have the highest meat to everything else ratio. 😁

I just order extra meat and cheese when I go to JM's and pay a little more to have it just the way I like it. I havent been to JJ's in quite a long time, but I imagine I would do the same there...JM's has a mystery shopping program in my area so it gets reimbursed, whereas JJ"s doesn't have one...yet.

Cricket food would, unfortunately, involve somewhat flabby cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, egg mayo with cress and Mrs Slaughter's builder's tea...
Cricket food in Mexico is fried crickets? My DH ate some once when he was loaded on tequila in Cancun. I don't think he enjoyed them very much.
