Loving this conversation.

I don’t like raw celery but it’s a must in some things, finely chopped - like egg sandwich filling - egg salad I think they call it in other places?

Loathe it in salads generally, but it’s a must in soups, just very finely chopped.

I often take hummus and veg sticks to work but never include celery because yuck.
Conversely I do eat it very occasionally, raw & filled with peanut butter.
Maybe a psych is just what I need. I seem to have some very real celery conflict 😂

As for what I’ve been eating lately - it’s very very hot here right now so a lot of steak, pork or chicken with salads.

Wow, just wow!!!!

Russ

Vichyssoise made with boniato instead of potato, with a horseradish kick. Scallops were made into tournedos wrapped with leeks, but they sunk  before I got a picture. Leek ribbons for garnish.

Starter was a scallop crudo with lemon, lime, and orange juices/zest, with about half of an orange habanero chopped finely.

Your food looks amazing.

I like celery raw in tuna salad, chicken salad, and egg salad for sandwiches also. But thinly sliced and chopped.

Agreed. But nothing better than fresh seared scallops, do you have a hard time getting a sear on frozen ones? I never have good luck with that.

I havnt cooked them in years, mainly because in the only one that likes them. High heat will give me colour. Actually I will do these next time our friends come for dinner.

Yeah, I do high heat even if they are fresh, but can't quite get that sear when they are frozen first.
Edited to add that it must be odd to be the only person in your household who likes scallops.

Still laughing about "gang gang" didn't know you were gangsta, LOL.

Put them on a plate on several layers of paper towels, more on top, then lightly weigh them down and let them sit in refrigerator for several hours. Then searing hot pan.

Yeah what's the odds of only me loving seafood.?
I get crayfish regularly and I will use a whole tail to make a giant sammich. I cook them when wife's not about, she starts retching at the smell. I have three in freezer ATM.

I can only imagine how great that sammie is.
