What did you cook or eat today (July 2023)?

BTW, ham and pineapple on pizza wasn't our thing. That blame goes to Canada. :D
Yeah - I'd eat it if it was stuck in front of me, but it's the last thing I'd order in a decent pizzeria.
I probably tried Neapolitan pizza the first time I went to Italy, in 1969. Can't remember it, unfortunately, but I CAN remember a pizza I ate in Florence. It was called "zingara" and nearly blew my head off with the hot peppers!

I had a wonderful meal in a little restaurant in Firenze about 15 years ago. I don't remember what I had, as the view from my chair was of Ponte Vecchio.

Same meal as yesterday, but I took a better picture

Scuse my ignorance - what's "protein" pasta?
As above but it's specifically from beans, peas and lentils. 28g of protein per serving.

San Remo » Pulse Pasta (link to website)
San Remo’s Pulse Pasta range uses pulses such as Peas, Lentils, Chickpeas and Borlotti Beans to produce an alternative to traditional wheat pasta. The pasta has more protein and more fibre than traditional pasta and is gluten free.

They also do a spelt pasta which is higher protein that traditionally pasta.

Yeah, the Barilla has wheat in it too. Legumes are vegetables and I figured the link explained it in depth.
I like this one because it's also gluten free and hubby seems to be developing a sensitivity to gluten as he ages.

I think that the San Remo ones are marginally higher in protein as well, but it's good to see alternatives.

What we like is that we can choose which one we have, so the range is using different pulses or combinations. Last night's was specially red lentil pasta, which was great because I didn't need extra/additional protein from beans with the stew being full of them. (As you are no doubt aware you need to eat a range of beans/peas/lentils to get all of the essential amino acids in because none (except for soy beans¹) contain all of them in a single source.) so may night we specially had the red lentil pasta spirals.

Yeah I remember that you posted your hubby was getting sensitive to gluten. That's a bummer with the laundry list of foods you two already have to avoid.

I don't think we carry that brand in stores by me. I'm sure there are similar ones in the healthy grocery and specialty food stores. I'm not in need of it personally but I do know others who would find the information useful.

It was 95F last I looked. I stopped looking. Ordered a steak, fries, salad, and mushrooms from my favorite steak place. Shared that with DD. Maybe some mint chip ice cream later.

It should be down to 95F before midnight here. As much as I like steak, It does not appeal to me right now, at 103F. I could go for a nice, cold salad. Ice cream, yes please.
