Family dinner last night. Daughter made her first attempt at naan bread. Huge hit here. 16 naans gone in 20 mins. Thet were so fluffy and brown in patches . We wont be buying shop ones now.
Granddaughter 14th this week.
Her turn next Sunday.
Tandoori lamb cutlets entree. ( that will cost me fortune)
Corned beef n carrots with mustard sauce. She loved it last time.

If you can show me a corned beef recipe I’d actually enjoy that would be brill.
I’ve had a tin staring at me for a kittle cook for a long time and can’t face it.
Corned beef makes me shudder but I think if it was hot and the fat had rendered down that might change things.

I'm not a fan of corned beef, either. My parents love it, but that gene didn't pass on to me.

So my chooks have started to lay again (OK only 1 girl and this was her first egg of the season, so hardly in full laying mode! )

Spot the difference between a shop bought free range, organic egg and my chooks.

The yolk will get oranger as laying gets into full swing in a few weeks time. Her first egg of the season (bottom picture) is paler than her normal but still darker/deeper in colour than the shop bought).

And tonight's evening meal used the purple potatoes that I dug up yesterday.

So a simple meal of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, purple tatties and spelt pasta with vegan sausages and a vegan "cheese" sauce (aka cashew nuts and miso with some other flavours thrown in).

I cook in a pot with about 20 peppercorns and 1/3 cup golden syrup. I cook carrots chunked up same time. I boil slowly 3 hrs.
I serve with mustard sauce. That was the part granddaughter remembered about the meal. How good that was.
I use the Edmonds recipe.

We too get coloured potatoes. We love them.

I bought a corned beef yesterday. I do mine the in the Instant Pot pressure cooker with my blend of pickling spices (spices go in a tea ball for easy removal). Pressure cook 1 1/2 hours. Take beef out to rest. Then put potatoes in pot and cook 5 mUnited. Serve with cole slaw.
