What did you cook or eat today (June 2024)

Yep here (by here I mean down in the West Country) they're called whatever it is "on toast" or on whatever type of bread it is, is named eg "on sourdough bread"

Well I don't know about naming the bread, unless its a special one. I often use soft white 'mass produced' bread - in which case its simply bread and jam, like it was when I was a kid.

Its not a sandwich. Well, not unless you put the halves together before eating. Nice looking jam.

I usually have it as a jam sandwich, but then jam only goes on one side. Yesterday day out was an open sandwich....

Life has been very hard for the last week, so I'm rather tired. Luckily things are looking better back in the UK and I can get some sleep again. Handy because tonight we're out for a vegan tasting menu again. My half birthday treat.

Pizza and gin!
