What did you cook or eat today (March 2025)

New vegan cheese to try out so a basic tomato and cheese on toast, very plain so I could judge the cheese on it’s merits.

Well cold straight from the fridge it was a delight. Very cool and refreshing, just like a good dairy buffalo mozzarella, it would make a lovely salad or cold cubes on a jacket potato would work but as a melting cheese it was just ok, pleasant enough but it’s mild flavour and ‘melt’ wasn’t quite up there.

Will be buying it again as I can imagine sliced with ripe tomatoes and a bit of oil, salt n pepper it will be really good.

I've had some really good vegan cheese over here; both mozz and parmesan.
These guys look as if they have a good product, but an incredibly contorted marketing department. 3 puns in 3 lines?

Yes and I don’t like the “I am nut ok” line because it’s not made with nuts it’s mostly soy. I think it’s just confusing. I had to read the ingredients twice because I thought I must be missing something! Then I realised it’s trying to saying it’s ok for nut allergy sufferers 🙄

I pulled out a piece of frozen pizza dough from the fridge, fully intending to have a pizza this afternoon.
The dough refused to rise again, so I rolled it out, dumped some bits of cheese hanging around on top, a few wild tomatoes from the garden - and made a pizza for the dog. He loved it!
Sounds like Pippi with her grilled ham and cheese sandwiches...

We've spent the day cleaning (some of) the house for the inspection on Tuesday, so meals were easy options.

Lunch was sourdough, smashed avo, chutney and tofu.

Evening meal was ravioli, peas and coriander pesto. We've now out of the coriander pesto, so my OH has requested some more.

Craig had his usual Sunday tantrum of not eating out lately, even though we did Tuesday, (medical issues with memory, besides other things, for new members), so, since I asked him early today about dinner, we got takeout from our favorite Thai/Japanese place. Sushi for me, dragon roll and vege roll, which I ate half of each, and combo fried rice and massaman curry with pork for him. My sushi.

I'm so tired of dealing with a 200+ pound toddler.

The loves for the sushi. Obviously I wanted the sad face for the toddler 😞
Do you get a break from him at all? Sorry I know that sounds a bit harsh but I love my husband to pieces and I still need a little break every now n then and he’s not even a toddler.
