What did you cook or eat today (May 2020)?

Tostadas. With lots of yummy Verde sauce that you can't see.

Hey, we have the same <bleep>ing plates! I was all like, "When did I eat that?"
Hahaha you can't kill these plates. I'm sure they will still be around somewhere in 300 years. I have others but for some reason I keep using these.

Corning apparently used lead paint up into the 1990's, and there's someone online on a crusade to get them recalled, but I figure we've had these since probably 1995, so any lead side-effects have already kicked in.

I cooked chicken fillets and store bought chips, I normally hand cut and twice fry but every now and then I like store bought Kringle cut. I made a home made BBQ sauce to go with it. The sauce was amazing, I need to do it more.
Cup of tea this morning with a crumpet, butter and Vegemite. Was good.

Morning.

Inspired by Samin Nosrat I cooked a David Leibovitz ginger molasses cake she used to make at Chez Panisse 😂 It’s very strong in ginger & completely delicious with a coffee.

Saturday night is family movie night, so last night we had homemade Nepalese beef momo dumplings with a chilli condiment I made up from several jars of such things I have in the fridge (including Happy Lady of course) and light soy, sesame oil, spring onions, a dash of sugar. I would have liked to add black vinegar but my family don’t like it.
There was also cups of dal to start with and a bunch of snacks I picked up in the Nepalese grocer that has opened up close to my work. I also bought a can of galub jamun which I would have served with ice cream but we were too full for dessert.

Woke up a little dusty from the wine so this mornings breakfast was instant ramen with crispy skin salmon, eggplant, avocado & furikake
