Unfortunately the only Popeye's around here are in the hood and I don't feel safe going.
When I worked in Minneapolis, there was one Popeye's and it was in a bad neighborhood.

My coworker was always afraid to go by himself, so about once a month, I'd have to follow him to Popeye's on his way home from work, and sit in the parking lot while he'd go through the drive-through to get chicken to take home.

I used to own part of a business that operated all over Dallas, including the Fair Park area, which is considered a very "bad" part of town. There was some good food there, including this soul food place called Clara's Kitchen. I had absolutely no problem going there for the famous soul food "meat and three."

As for Popeyes, there is one about a mile from me in Frisco. At worst, you might get a door ding from a Mercedes in the parking lot. They are all over the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

There is a lot of really good food in bad neighborhoods. I tell my friends, "Just be friendly, talk to people, and basically act like you live in the neighborhood."

OH, BTW -- Popeyes is opening a location in London!!! They say they will not be changing the menu for England -- it will be the same as they sell on Canal Street in New Orleans.

Al Copeland's (Popeyes founder) 3rd wife was a massage client of mine when I lived in Florida.

I've had work on occasion where I had to visit unsavory parts of town--areas where there are muggings, car jackings, occasional shootings...in broad daylight. I get harassed by panhandlers begging for money and unwelcome comments from strange men. I get in and out of there as fast as I can. No way do I look like someone from those neighborhoods.

We drove to Sarajevo (2019 winter Olympics ) to check out the City and it's street food in the old town. Both were splendid, it brought back fond memories of Jemaa el-Fna Square in Marrakesh. I do not want to insult the place by posting my pathetic pictures first so please take a few minutes to watch this excellent video. Nb we just finished unpacking last night when we were hit by a 5.1 moderate earthquake. We had driven through the epicentre about 90 minutes away.
