Last night I met you with friends at a restaurant called Al Aseel in Bankstown. Food was good. Service was slow.

Mixed dip platter with mixed olives - labneh, hummus, muhammara & babaganoush.


Rakakat cheese pastry fingers, spiced potato, halloumi with olives, capsicum & honey, beef kibbeh, mansef chicken & rice served with a cucumber yogurt with dried mint.

I only got the one photo. We were too hungry by 8pm to faffing around.

Today I went to a funeral for my Aunty in law. After my little group went to lunch at a food court in a new shopping centre nearby.

We got a plate of tacos, a plate of prawn pad Thai and a spinach & cheese gozleme.

My daughter is obsessed with bubble tea and trying new stuff from the shops so she bought a whizzed strawberry thing with cheesecake foam on top for herself, I had the black sugar coffee (pictured) with espresso, cows milk. Boba & ice and minimal black sugar syrup.
She bought her Dad a hot chocolate version of the same. He’s never had real boba before.

What did you flavor your risotto with Rocklobster ? and how is the fish dressed? It looks lovely
The risotto is Milanese with a bit of chicken stock and saffron, some onion and garlic from the garden, parmesan and butter..The haddock is covered in what is basically a bruschetta mix with olive oil, baked for about 20 minutes
 
Had a friend over for dinner, so I made the snacks (focaccia, sweet & sour aubergines with green peppercorns, peperonata with anchovies & thyme) and the first course. A trio of bruschetta:

Mushrooms with parsley; marinated tomatoes and sundried tomatoes with olives and mozzarella; fresh figs, goat cheese, speck and balsamic reduction.
Wife made a spectacular puttanesca sauce and a tiramisú.
Washed down with Cava and a South African shiraz.
