What did I cook today?

I have acoupla recipes that I want to make that call for "leftover chicken meat", so I pulled out from my stand-up freezer three chicken b/s breast and chucked them into the slow cooker aka Crock Pot - on low for 3 hours, seasoned simply with just S&P with Garlic Powder.

I got a lovely broth out of those beauties with no liquid added to the pot at all.

I miss Stewart's root beer in the frosty mug. Sitting on a bar stool at the window.

That pizza looks fantastic! What all is on there?
Thanks - very little, just cheese, black olives (chopped), and some fresh basil. That yellow stuff that sort of could be mistaken for bell pepper…that’s yellow cheese flecked with bits of pepperoni. Yes, I broke one of the cardinal rules of pizza-making by putting yellow cheese on a pizza.

Root beer stands - we still have quite a few around here…well, around Cincy and the suburbs. Jolly’s would have been my hometown favorite growing up. Homemade root beer and footlong chili dogs.

A&W, though…nope. We still have a couple, but they changed a loooooong time ago, just another crappy fast food place now. I usually see them set up as part of a gas station shop or paired with a Long John Silvers.

Pepperoni cheese? I used be able to get that at an Acme supermarket but can't find it anywhere now.

I miss getting A&W root beer
The only time I ever tried that stuff was in 1974, on a tour of the USA. Loved the pizzas, the pastrami, the salad dressings, the burgers, the sandwiches...
And then they made us try root beer, sarsparilla and Dr Pepper. Absolutely vile and disgusting - never again.
Mind you, every country (including the UK's marmite and pie & liquor) has something disgusting. Good job we're not all the same!

And it is good that we are not all the same.

That cheese sounds good. I’ve found smoked Gouda with bacon on it. Highly recommend picking it up if you see it in the store.
