I already thought this was good value £45 for a whole side of smoked salmon.
I hadn’t realised when I ordered it that it comes on a wooden board and knife included!
The knife was perfect, made it really easy to slice the salmon into long thin slices. Very happy with it.

Faaarrr too much stuff in the fridge, so I rustled through the towering tupperware and found some quiche. And rice. And a plantain.
That was lunch for son and the cleaning lady.
The veg tray revealed 3 leeks, which I blanched, smothered in cheese sauce and cooked up some potatoes just for good measure.
That was my dinner.

We had no plans to do anything. As late as 11:00 on Christmas morning, I was still debating whether to have leftovers or find someplace to go out. It just wasn't feeling like a holiday. But I went freezer diving, and found 2 big beautiful duck breasts and then some parsnips in the fridge, so that became dinner. It seems I usually alternate between duck and beef Wellington for Christmas. So glad I changed my mind!

Duck with Port wine and dried cherry gastrique over pureed parsnips.
