What's Haluski?
A dish of pan-fried chopped cabbage and onions, mixed into egg noodles. Maybe some bacon or kielbasa slices in there as well.
We didn’t call it haluski when I was a kid. We just called it cabbage and noodles. I didn’t learn the name “haluski” until I’d gone to Cleveland, Ohio for work for several days and was eating meals in a neighborhood Polish bar, and it was on the menu.
Haluski, pommes de terre sautées à la lyonnaise (skillet-fried potatoes)…my mom and grandmom would have been impressed to know they were such international chefs!
And that is what I’ll be serving later with lashings of sour cream, tamed jalapeños and cheese. Yum yum

Soaked beans overnight. Now cooking with onion and garlic. Finishing up in about 90 to 120 minutes.

Hubby was out last night, so I went to pull a freezer meal out. I was looking for the cooking instructions when I spotted this....

Very unimpressed. Not even vegetarian let alone vegan.
Needless to say, I didn't eat it and won't be getting that brand again.

Somewhat spicier beans and polenta. Delicious!
Thyme, chilli pepper, black pepper, garlic powder, red paprika, oregano, bay leaves. Did I number them all? Hope so.
Within the beans cooked an onion and 5 cloves of garlic.

Yeah. I spotted it easily. Its most unecessary too to make that element.
Yep, I’m pretty blind to things like that and I spotted it right away. WTF indeed!
I was gonna say perhaps it’s produced in a country that doesn’t really understand what veganism is, then I read “Made in Australia” so WTF indeed!!
